This policy explains the cookies and similar tracking technologies used on oradelgarda.com. Read it together with our privacy policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser by a website you visit. Cookies are used to remember preferences, measure usage, and — in the case of advertising or affiliate networks — track activity across sites for attribution. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels; the same rules in this policy apply to all of them.
Cookies we use
We group cookies by purpose. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies via the consent banner on your first visit, and you can revoke consent at any time.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the site to function. They do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
odg_consent | Ora del Garda | Stores your cookie consent choice | 12 months |
__session (or equivalent) | Cloudflare / Vercel | Session continuity, edge routing | Session |
Analytics cookies (consent required)
These help us understand how the site is used. They are set only after you accept analytics via the banner.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes anonymous users | 14 months |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics 4 | Persists session state for GA4 property | 14 months |
_gid | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes anonymous users (24h) | 24 hours |
| Cloudflare first-party analytics | Cloudflare | Privacy-friendly first-party page measurement | 30 days |
Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymisation. We do not run remarketing audiences from GA4 data.
Affiliate tracking cookies (set only on click-out)
When you click a link from this site to an affiliate partner, the partner sets a cookie on its own domain to attribute any subsequent booking to us. We do not set these cookies, and we cannot read them. Examples:
| Cookie pattern | Set by | Purpose | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
gyg_* | GetYourGuide | Booking attribution | 30 days |
| Viator / Tripadvisor partner cookies | Viator | Booking attribution | 30 days |
| Booking.com partner cookies | Booking.com | Booking attribution | 30–60 days |
| Click&Boat partner cookies | Click&Boat | Booking attribution | 30 days |
| Rentalcars partner cookies | Rentalcars | Booking attribution | 30 days |
Lifetimes vary by partner and are set on the partner’s domain. Refer to the partner’s own privacy and cookie policy for the most current values.
How to manage your consent
- On first visit: a consent banner appears. You can accept all, reject non-essential, or set granular preferences.
- To change your mind later: visit
/cookie-settings/(link to be added when the consent management widget is live) or clear theodg_consentcookie in your browser to be re-prompted. - To withdraw consent for Google Analytics specifically: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on from Google.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before withdrawal.
Browser-level controls
You can block or delete cookies directly in your browser. Doing so may break parts of this site that depend on strictly necessary cookies. Instructions:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Apple Safari (macOS): Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data; or enable “Block all cookies.”
- Apple Safari (iOS): Settings → Safari → Block All Cookies.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
For a global opt-out from many advertising networks (we do not currently run ads), see youronlinechoices.eu.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We respect browser-level Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where technically supported by our analytics provider. We do not currently honour the legacy Do Not Track header, which has been deprecated by most browsers.
Updates to this policy
We will update this page when we add, remove, or change cookies or trackers in any material way. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the most recent revision.
